Skin types

Normal skin:
Your skin doesn’t have dry or oily areas. This means that your skin has an even tone. It’s smooth and firm, pores are small and you hardly ever have pimples. You can be very thankful for this skin type.  There is not so much you have to do to keep it looking healthy. Everyday moisturizer should do the trick.

Oily skin:
Your skin can feel greasy and it shines all over. It is usually thicker and firmer than other skin types. It is very common to have blemished and “blackheads”, since the pores are often medium or large sized. Don’t use regular soap to clean your face, because it usually dries your skin and it will create more sebum meaning your skin will get worse. On the website you will find products for oily skin. These products are oil free and will help your skin to look better.

Dry/sensitive skin:
Your skin feels tight and can sometimes be flaky. It gets irritated very easily with as response your skin is getting red or you’re getting some sort of minor rash. If redness or rash occurs after using a product, throw it away and try other products especially made for dry/sensitive skin types. Avoid cheap shaving creams and alcohol based products. These very often causes your skin to react with a stinging and/or itchy feeling or worse.

Combination skin:
Basically with this skin type, you have two types. Around the chin, nose and forehead (T-zone) your skin can be oily (most of the time) or dry and the cheeks and eye area is the opposite. To work with this skin type you can use what is needed for the area. There are also products that are especially designed for combination skin.

Skin of color:
If you are in this category you know that the usual products are very often not working for your skin. You tend to get more ingrown hairs and razor burns than caucasian men. Colored skin is usually more sensitive and dry  and can often have blemishes and “blackheads”.  Don’t use hot water and bar soaps for your face because it makes the skin worse. Now, for men of color, we sell products specifically designed for the "Afro Man" by Black Skin.
